About BEAMZ
At BEAMZ, we have a vision:
“To create beautiful, high performance, bespoke bicycles from wood in the most sustainable, environmentally friendly and inclusive way.”
Wood is an obvious choice to fulfill this vision as it offers:
a natural beauty,
excellent strength to weight characteristics,
shock-absorbing ride comfort,
a robust finish resistant to dents,
and each bike is guaranteed to be unique let alone bespoke!
BEAMZ Trust CIC (12925511) is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise.
These bicycles will effectively grow themselves every eight years.
If the wood is sourced from a woodland under coppice management, no trees will be harmed and we will have helped support this ancient, wildlife-friendly form of forestry.
When combined with our approach of using a re-mouldable glue for the joints allowing the bikes to be repaired, plus our use of recycled materials, a BEAMZ bicycle more than meets our sustainability target.
BEAMZ has been set up as a not-for-profit social enterprise (C.I.C) in Southampton and works closely with a local community hub.
